This project will restore degraded habitat to support native wildlife, and especially the endangered Green and Golden Bellfrog (Litoria aurea). Working with Central Coast Council, the National Parks and Wildlife Service, and other community groups, the Wamberal Lagoon Conservation Society will recreate wetland sites and monitor wildlife populations at the restoration site as well as nearby control areas (to document impacts of the restoration work). Weekly surveys, performed in a standardised fashion by volunteers under supervision of expert scientists, will provide robust information on the effectiveness of the restoration activities as well as facilitating community involvement and education.
