Recreational Infrastructure Upgrades

Recreational Infrastructure Upgrades (Tuggerah Lakes Catchment)

Tuggerah Lakes is a recreational asset for the community. Providing better recreational facilities was a priority of the Tuggerah Lakes Estuary Management Plan. A key feature of this program includes a shared pathway “loop” which has been many years in the making and will allow people to circumnavigate the estuary foreshore safely.

The EMP has also delivered new foreshore beaches at key locations which support local watercraft businesses, alongside other Council projects such as Little Libraries where the community can pick up and drop off books to share and a host of boat ramps, jetties, fish cleaning stations and picnic or barbeque facilities. The Entrance Town Centre provides a daily opportunity for locals and tourists to witness the historic pelican feeding and Council has upgraded the jetty and carpark at Berkeley Vale and the foreshore at Mackenzie reserve.

These projects were made possible through the Australian Government's "Improving Your Local Parks and Environment" grant program
